My Shortlist

Terms of use

The short version: this site is free, use it to choose your course, check important numbers with the university before you act on them, and please don't bulk-copy our data.

Who we are

My Shortlist is run by My Shortlist Pty Ltd (ABN 56 702 451 830), an Australian company. When these terms say “we” or “us”, that is who they mean.

What this site is for

My Shortlist helps you compare Australian university courses and build a shortlist. It is free for students, parents and careers advisers, for personal and classroom use.

A guide, not a guarantee

We work hard to show honest, sourced, current figures – our methodology page says exactly where everything comes from. But entry ranks change each year, fees depend on your exact subject choices, and universities update their offerings. Before you accept an offer or lodge a preference, confirm the details with the university or the tertiary admissions centre. Match scores are our own calculation to help you explore, not advice.

Please don't bulk-copy the data

The figures we display belong to their sources – the QILT surveys, Course Seeker and others – and we show them with attribution for personal course-choice use. Scraping, bulk-downloading or republishing the data from this site or its underlying feeds is not permitted. If you want the data itself, go to the source: it is theirs, not ours.

Accounts

Accounts are optional and free. We store your email, first name, shortlist and answers, nothing more, and you can delete everything at any time. The detail is on our privacy page.

No endorsement

The bodies whose public data we display – including QILT, the Social Research Centre, the Department of Education, the tertiary admissions centres and the universities – do not endorse My Shortlist.

hello@myshortlist.au. We read everything. For anything about your own data, including deleting it, use privacy@myshortlist.au.

Reporting a security problem

If you find a vulnerability, email security@myshortlist.au and give us a reasonable chance to fix it before you publish. We will not pursue anyone who reports a problem in good faith, and we will tell you what we did about it. There is no bug bounty, because there is no money yet.
